According to the polymerization method, low-density polyethylene can be divided into the high-pressure method and low-pressure method. 3. Extrusion Coating: LLDPE can be used as a coating material in extrusion coating processes. It is applied as a thin layer to provide moisture resistance, heat sealing properties, and improved appearance to various substrates, such as paperboard, aluminum foil, and woven fabrics.
4. Wire and Cable Insulation: LLDPE is used in the production of wire and cable insulation due to its excellent electrical insulation properties. It provides protection to the conductors and helps maintain electrical integrity.
5. Injection Molding: While LLDPE is not as commonly used in injection molding compared to other polyethylene types like LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) or HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), it can still be employed for certain applications that require flexibility and impact resistance.
6. Geomembranes: LLDPE geomembranes are used in civil engineering and environmental applications such as landfill liners, mining industry containment, and pond liners. These geomembranes provide a durable barrier to prevent the migration of fluids or contaminants.
