With high-purity ethylene as the main raw material, propylene, 1-butene, etc. as the copolymer monomer, and hexane as the solvent, the polymerization is carried out under low-pressure conditions of about 78℃~85℃ and 0.13MPa~0.70MPa using a highly active catalyst, and then dried, mixed, extruded, granulated, sieved, and homogenized to obtain polyethylene particles with a density of 0.940g/cm3~0.970g/cm3.
High Density Polyethylene HDPE is one of the three primary polyolefin materials. It has excellent physical and mechanical properties and is often used as a raw material for plastic gas pipes and construction pipes. With the continuous development of catalyst technology in China, the preparation process of high-density polyethylene materials has been continuously improved, and the market share of polyethylene materials has also continuously increased.
Performance Advantages of High Density Polyethylene Pipe
1. Impact resistance, cracking ability and scratch resistance are at the forefront of all kinds of plastics. The lower the ambient temperature, the stronger the impact resistance.
2. The wear resistance is 4-7 times that of steel, 10 times that of polypropylene, and 2.3 times that of polyethylene. The effect of conveying small particle slurry, such as fly ash, is better.
3. The chemical properties are very stable and can withstand the erosion of various corrosive media and organic solvents. It is more corrosion-resistant than polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, ABS and other plastics.
4. Non-adhesive. It’s chemical and physical properties are lower than ordinary plastics, and it is challenging to attach dirt substances. As long as the slurry flow rate reaches 2.3 to 4.6m/s, it is difficult to form scale, even if it accumulates slowly for a long time to create a scale layer, it is not firm and easy to remove.
5. The coefficient of friction is only 1/6 of zinc steel pipe, 1/5 of ordinary polyethylene, 1/20 of rubber and 1/2 of polypropylene. High wear resistance, non-stick and corrosion resistance can always keep the pipe wall smooth without clogging. The flow capacity is generally more than 50% higher than steel pipes. Therefore, the transmission system can maintain low pressure and smooth flow for a long time.
6. The tensile strength is high and can withstand considerable pipe stress in an extensive temperature range. Absorbs shock loads and water pressure fluctuations during shutdowns.
7. The welding process is simple, intuitive and efficient. The welding strength exceeds the pipe body, which provides convenience and guarantees the installation of long-distance pipelines, mainly medium and high-pressure pipelines.
8. The hdpe raw material price is relatively moderate. The total project cost of medium and low-pressure pipelines is even lower than that of seamless steel pipes and lower than that of composite and alloy pipes. However, the service life is more than six times longer than steel pipes and more than four times longer than composite pipes, and the economic benefits are undeniable.
9. Suitable for crude oil collection and transportation pipelines. The advantages of the high tube are its light weight, convenient installation and construction, and low-temperature solid resistance. Therefore, the benefits of crude oil gathering and transportation pipelines are more prominent.
